WHAT A CART PAGE SHOULD SHOW SO BUYERS CAN TRUST THEM

Post by Peace »

For your first store, your CART PAGE is where most people run away. Make it look trustworthy like this:

What Your Cart Page MUST Show:

1. Real Product
- Picture, size, color they picked
- Price for one + total
- E.g: "Black Powerbank 20,000mAh (x1) - ₦15,000"

2. Delivery Cost Before Checkout
Don't hide it. Show on top:
"Delivery: Lagos ₦2,500 | Outside Lagos ₦4,000 | 24-48hrs"
Add calculator: "Enter your location"

3. Total Money Very Clear
Subtotal: ₦15,000
Delivery: ₦2,500
TOTAL TO PAY: ₦17,500

4. Trust Badges (Nigerians check this)
✅ Pay on Delivery Available
✅ WhatsApp: 080... (Real number)
✅ 24hrs Return if not what you ordered
✅ Secure Payment by Paystack/Flutterwave

5. 2 Ways to Pay
- Checkout Now
- Order on WhatsApp (This builds trust most)

6. What Happens Next
Small text under button: "We will call you in 30 mins to confirm your order. No payment now if you pick Pay on Delivery."

7. Abandoned Cart Reminder
Add: "Your cart is reserved till 6pm today"

DON'T DO:
- Don't force account creation
- Don't add hidden charges at checkout
- Don't show $ when you sell in Nigeria

If your cart shows picture + price + delivery + WhatsApp + total, people will trust and pay.

Another important thing to add is clear stock availability and an easy way to edit the cart. Customers should know if an item is still available before placing an order, and they should be able to change the quantity or remove a product without starting all over again.

Also, showing an estimated delivery date and sending an order confirmation immediately after checkout can help buyers feel more confident. Trust is not just about what customers see on the cart page; it is also about how easy and reliable the entire buying process feels. 💯
